The day flowed like a river, effortlessly navigating through obstacles. The morning sky transformed into a warm noon as their car drove through an empty road, surrounded by the flourishing beauty of nature in its prime. Despite the beautiful weather enhancing the mood, Taehyung felt a contrasting heaviness within. The silence in their car continued for a long period of time because Jungkook let the brunet take this time to think and settle his emotions with their hands intertwined together. Jungkook didn't appreciate the silence between them but he didn't want to break Taehyung out of his bubble either. The sudden stop of their car snapped Taehyung out of his thoughts. As he sat up and looked around, he found himself surrounded by a sea of fluffy creamy white and mellow chestnut-hued dandelions. The unexpected scenery captivated his attention.
His eyes grew glittery as he watched the scenery. As soon as he realised, the warm and tender grip from his hand was lossended.
"We're here baby." Jungkook said before getting out of the car and walking towards Taehyung's door to open it up for him. Anticipation filled the brunet as multiple emotions battled within him, leaving his facial expressions indecisive. Jungkook extended his hand, shimmering under the bright sunlight, with his black silk-like hair causing a twinkling effect in Taehyung's warm hazel eyes. Blinking softly, Taehyung placed his hand in Jungkook's, stepping out of the car to stand and fully witness the captivating view before him.
Shutting the car door behind them, Jungkook turned to face Taehyung, who was still absorbed in the view with one hand in his grip. Gently, Jungkook turned the brunet towards himself, letting Taehyung place his other hand on his broad chest, feeling the soft palpitations of Jungkook's heart beating roughly. Facing Jungkook, Taehyung looked up into his dark eyes, a depth he desperately wanted to lose himself in. The intensity of their gazes heightened, as Jungkook seemed focused on searching for something in Taehyung's hazel eyes, and it was the shine. Gently placing his folded finger under Taehyung's chin, Jungkook lifted his face a little to look into his eyes better.
"Tae… What caused you to fall this quiet? This seems weird to me. Please talk to me." Jungkook requested in a gentle whisper, willing to see that shine in his eyes again. Taehyung couldn't comprehend what he was feeling inside. He was feeling all and everything at once, about his grandmother, his family, Jungkook and what else not. He just didn't know what to say. Taehyung escaped both Jungkook's question and gaze, choosing to concentrate on the view once again. He let his hand drift away from Jungkook's grip, walking towards the depths of nature. The mercilessly bright sun played against the white dandelions, and the slightest breeze sent off the florets of the dandelions dancing in the air. The surrounding fields were alive with activity, and some florets even found their way into Taehyung's wavy, permed hair. Unfazed, he let his feet carry him deeper into the expanse. The plants were as high as his knees, and he cut a path through them as he walked forward. Jungkook observed from the edge of the road, captivated by the scene unfolding.
Jungkook was not sure why Taehyung decided to pull up this much of an intense silence but he still needed to try more. He was constantly reminded of that particular thing in his pocket which had his thoughts conflicting with each other, if he should or shouldn't. Jungkook sighed and decided to follow Taehyung, not wanting to give up on his silence. Taehyung quietly played with some flowers, bending to pluck a dandelion to blow the florets away with a single blow of air. He observed how easily the florets left the base of the dandelion, searching for their better new places. It's just a principle of nature. No matter how much we cherish something, sometimes it's destined to leave us.
Taehyung threw the empty flower base on the ground and decided to walk further until he found himself under the shade of a tree in the middle of the field. The tree was adorned with tiny bushes and purple tulips under it which were exceeding into a different field afar. Taehyung ended up sitting under the tree, letting his back rest against the trunk. Jungkook continued to follow Taehyung to the tree, stopping to observe him with a hint of confusion and worry in his eyes. Wondering whether to sit by his side or give him the space he seemed to be seeking, Jungkook hesitated, caught between concern and respecting Taehyung's solitude.
"Tae…" his name fell out so gently from Jungkook's mouth which caused the brunet to lift his head up to look at him, eyes softening to find Jungkook there.
"Just let me know if you're alright." Jungkook requested out of pure concern and Taehyung sucked in a heavy breath. Jungkook knew he wasn't. As Taehyung curled into a tight ball, bringing his knees closer to his chest and letting his head fall into them, Jungkook approached him. Without hesitation, he embraced Taehyung in his arms, providing a comforting presence in the midst of the moment.
"Tae… baby? Hey!" Jungkook sat beside him, sliding his legs under the space of Taehyung's folded knees. Seeking to engulf him in his warmth, Jungkook provided a comforting presence, and Taehyung allowed himself to be embraced by it.
"What is it?" Jungkook questioned again while Taehyung's silent tears began to leave his eyes.
Jungkook gently tried to lift Taehyung's face, pulling him closer. With care, he held Taehyung's face in his hands, witnessing the pain reflected in his tear-filled eyes.
"Baby…" Jungkook whispered, seeming unsure, attempting to wipe away Taehyung's tears with his thumb. Taehyung lowered his head onto Jungkook's shoulder, and the elder didn't mind. He gently curled his arm around Taehyung's back, one hand reaching to comfortingly cup his cheek. Jungkook tried his best to be his solace. Which he was.
"Why do the ones we love one day leave? Why?" Taehyung's question caused Jungkook to finally grasp the root of his misery. Responding with understanding, Jungkook held him even tighter, his soft hands gently rubbing Taehyung's back in a comforting gesture.
"No one's leaving your side baby. No one." Jungkook tried to comfort him but Taehyung felt like crying.
"What if my loved ones leave my side one day? How will I endure it? I am afraid to lose everyone I have. I'm not that strong. I am selfish. I want to have all of them around me forever but knowing that they cannot… I feel so helpless." Taehyung cried and Jungkook felt extremely devastated to see him this way. Taehyung found it difficult to accept the harsh reality. The profound impact of seeing his granny on the verge of counting her last breaths had left a deep mark. He didn't want her to leave; he didn't want anyone close to him to depart.
"No one ever leaves the sides of their very loved ones. It's just the principle of nature that one day we have to physically leave to free up the space for more to come in our places one day." Jungkook whispered in the most calming way that somehow was convincing Taehyung's sensitive heart.
"We can't be pessimistic about things that have to happen one day. We have to expand our beliefs and sometimes we should accept fate." Jungkook kept continuing and Taehyung kept listening to his calming voice because he too knew how impossible it is to stop someone. Jungkook's hand travelled up from Taehyung's back to his hair, his fingers playing with his silk threads.
"B-but… when they leave… their void is impossible to be filled." Taehyung whispered, lifting his head to gaze up at Jungkook, whose eyes met his. Taehyung's head gently rested against Jungkook's arm, curled around his shoulders. The brunet nestled in his arms with a perfect ease, and Jungkook looked down at his face with a comforting presence.
"It takes time until someone else fills the void with their presence."
"But what if we can't lose them or we don't want to let go of them? Like I can't just replace some people in my life. It’s so painful to even think of. It’s just impossible for me to even imagine if one day I am left with the voids… It will just break me." Taehyung ended up tearing up again and Jungkook's eyes softened with pity to see him.
"Baby… why are you saying all of this? No one's gonna leave you. I won't leave you." Jungkook comforted and this time Taehyung turned his body to completely straddle Jungkook to hug him chest to chest, arms snaking over Jungkook's shoulders who held Taehyung's waist and let him hug him. In the midst of the tight hug they shared, a moment of pure silence enveloped them. Jungkook left pepper kisses of assurance on Taehyung's neck and cheek, his hands softly stroking his back. Deeply inhaling Jungkook's scent sprayed on the mellow fabric of his shirt, Taehyung snuggled his face more into Jungkook's neck, seeking additional comfort in an embrace that never wavered in its support.
"Some people may leave early but some stay together till our last breath. This is what we call life, baby. We meet some people very late and share early goodbyes. Like your Granny, I am sure she'll be better again to see more amazing days with you. Don't let your thoughts break you because I know she wouldn't be happy to see you this way." Jungkook whispered in an attempt to make him feel better and Taehyung seemed a lot affected in a good way. After a while, Taehyung gently brought his head apart, facing Jungkook so closely that their breaths mingled together. His eyes wandered all over Jungkook's face, eager to absorb every detail. Jungkook reciprocated with an endearing gaze, his attention fixed on Taehyung's lips as he began to speak.
"When you touch my hand I feel like I'm relaxed after a long time. I feel safe like I don't care if the world is ending. I just only want to hold your hand. My body cells dance and celebrate their happiness to meet your cells. I feel so alive. You ignite these feelings in me that I thought I would never have. Your mere touch gives me this beautiful sensation that I have never felt before. But… When I lose your touch I feel weak and insecure. I always wondered what falling in love feels like and then for the first time in my life I totally understood… how it feels to crave for someone's touch and how our body gets addicted to that special touch. It's indescribable… I'm so in love… so much that now… I'm scared." Taehyung finally let his heart speak for him, pouring his confession in front of Jungkook with his voice dripping with insecurities and Jungkook pondered why he was feeling all of this. Jungkook felt an overwhelming surge of emotions, the unsaid words settled in the depth of his heart aligning perfectly with Taehyung's confession. He fought back tears, not wanting to reveal the vulnerability he felt after Taehyung's heartfelt words. Indeed, Taehyung was his greatest weakness.
"I'm scared… I'm scared of my love for you. If it's less or I'm failing to describe the intensity of it. I just… I don't know. I want you to know that I'm so much in love with you. Ever since you brought me here, all these tiny gestures of showing your love to me… it scares me… will I even be able to return it back... I…" Taehyung was on the verge of crying again.
"Hush… just don't proceed with your words any longer. Just don't." Jungkook hushed Taehyung, letting their foreheads rest together.
"If love scares you. I'm only gonna scare you more because you scare me every time too." Jungkook replied in a challenging manner, engaging in a playful debate like a stubborn child. Despite the teary emotions, Taehyung managed to tug his lips into a smile.
Jungkook snuggled his face against Taehyung's, tender lips brushing against his cheeks and the corners of his lips, creating a sweet and affectionate connection between them.
"Why would you think that I need something in return for my feelings for you when you have already shown me the unseen colours of love and beauty. I have never felt this way before but you have given me a purpose to continue as who I am and what I want to be for you in future. Don't be scared my love, just don't be scared because all I want to see in you is just pure joy. I want to see you laugh till your face gets tired. I want you to know. I love you so much and I am considerate for your love and will always be." Jungkook whispered on top of his lips, playing with his exquisite features and Taehyung simply admired him with his sparkling eyes, then deciding to close his eyes because he knew what Jungkook would do. And it was to attach their lips perfectly against each other for a kiss, a kiss so deep, sealing an abundance of assurance together. They didn't want to end this connection of their love. Their tongues danced with an intimate rhythm, moving as if they could spell out their names against each other's lips, creating a connection that went beyond words. As Taehyung confessed, his body cells were dancing after meeting Jungkook's. It was as if they were powered by the friction, energising his body fully. Not just this but the serotonin in their bloodstream would boost up to its highest peak and Taehyung regained his comfort and solace. He momentarily forgot about his miseries and the sudden spark between them had him feeling all sorts of tingling sensations, just so beautifully. In the midst of the kiss, Taehyung found himself drawn even deeper into Jungkook's embrace. Jungkook held him tighter, gently guiding him to lay back on the soft green grass. Amidst the fields of dandelions, their bodies almost disappeared into the one-foot-high sea of blooms. Unaware of the world around them, they laid there, finding each other as their worlds collided in a moment of shared intimacy. As the need for deeper breaths overpowered him, Taehyung reluctantly broke the kiss, throwing his head back as he gasped. He finally felt the soft bed of grass under his back, with Jungkook's firm body on top of him. Jungkook gazed down at Taehyung's face, admiring the reddening of his cheeks and the lazily half-shut eyelids. The constant flickering of Taehyung's long eyelashes stirred something within Jungkook's heart. Taehyung remained the prettiest flower amongst all.
The brunet's chest heaved up and down in need of air but then he looked up to find the at undeniably the most handsome face serving him looks of God and all he wanted him to do was to continue and never stop.
Tugging Jungkook's shirt collars with his hand, Taehyung brought him closer for another kiss. In the blissful moment amid the dandelions, they seemed to forget their surroundings. Taehyung yearned for more, craving every inch of Jungkook's lips and hands on him. The hunger for each other was irresistible, and for Taehyung, there was never enough of Jungkook.
