20. The Bewitching Journey

The much-awaited journey for the two had begun, promising to unfold exciting moments and new experiences. Jungkook felt the thumping of his heart, a fusion of excitement and overflowing love, especially when he witnessed Taehyung's exquisite face illuminated by that endearing smile, making each moment of the journey all the more special. Seated next to Jungkook in the comfortable and warm embrace of the car, Taehyung found himself enveloped in a scent symphony. The combination of Jungkook's perfume and Taehyung's own fragrance mingled in the air, creating a delightful aroma that lingered, gently tickling their nostrils throughout the journey. Everything was addicting for Taehyung who let himself tilt a little towards Jungkook driving them away with a smile, a smile beneath which was a mischief of being a bit careless that day. He let Taehyung miss his school because they needed to escape and this made the brunet feel all the daring for love feelings. The experience felt surreal, magical, and simply wonderful. The way Jungkook was ready to compromise anything to ensure Taehyung's happiness, had the brunet's heart taken away again. Jungkook exuded undeniable charm, but from Taehyung's perspective, he appeared irresistibly captivating. Every aspect of him was inviting, and Taehyung found himself drawn in, captivated enough to want to watch him indefinitely. Jungkook noticed Taehyung's exhilaration from the corner of his eyes and couldn't help but smile at the brunet, their shared joy amplifying the enchantment of the journey.

"What? Am I looking hideous?" The brunet shot his question right after Jungkook's soft chuckle, who turned his head towards him for a mere while.

"I am just driving. Stop looking at me like that." Jungkook replied, paying his attention on the road again as he tried to take them out of the city.

"Exactly… you're driving and I don't know what else to do other than looking at you." Taehyung said in his defence, tilting himself wholly towards the older male.

"Once you get out of this city, you can see a lot of beautiful things along the way."

"What if I only want to look at you?" Taehyung asked in a challenging tone and Jungkook chuckled, shaking his head out of endearment.

"Just a moment…" Jungkook said and fastened his car once they turned to a different way, a road leading into the bliss of nature. The road seemed less crowded and adorned with numerous fields of flowers all around. Everywhere they looked, nature unfolded with vibrant blooms and lush greenery, plateaus and hills visible on the distant horizon. Taehyung momentarily tore his gaze away from Jungkook, captivated by the beauty of the changed environment that surrounded them.

"This is a shortcut." Jungkook added and Taehyung smiled widely in pure amazement.

"Really? I didn't know."

"Now you know."

Once they were out of the city, Taehyung rolled down his window, allowing the cool air to rush into the car. The breeze played with their hair and left gentle kisses on their faces, adding a refreshing touch to the journey. The fields of dandelions and daisies welcomed them on the outskirts of the town with the mix of purple fields full of tulips and lavenders, grown for commercial purposes, very appealing to look at. The season was also blooming like their love. Taehyung let his head peek out of the window as he enjoyed the view surrounding them, noticing how the trees afar followed them along the way. Just to add some more fun Jungkook turned on the radio of the car. A beautiful song played on. The silence between them was so divine but soon the music began to speak for them. The melody and lyrics, all falling just too right in place of the situation. Jungkook, from time to time, turned his head towards Taehyung, checking on him and admiring his beautiful face. While the scenic view unfolded around them, to Taehyung, Jungkook appeared to be the more captivating sight, drawing his attention effortlessly. Taehyung turned himself back towards Jungkook again, laying his back against the seat and head turned towards him. Yes the scenery was beautiful but he still chose to stare at Jungkook. As he observed Jungkook, Taehyung noticed the artist's strong arms beneath the rolled-up sleeves, the Rolex on his wrist adorning the designed tattoos. From the side view, he admired the mole under Jungkook's bottom lip, the subtle bite and clenched jaws with a slight frown whenever he would concentrate while driving. Every detail left Taehyung utterly smitten by everything about him. The brunet rubbed his thighs together, inhaling deeply to savour the fresh air. His fingertips found their way onto Jungkook’s skin who felt the warmth and tenderness of Taehyung's touch against his own. The gentle fingertips traced the designs on his hand, exploring the intricate patterns of veins and the artist's minute details, causing Jungkook to lose concentration in the delightful distraction.

"You're distracting me." Jungkook had to speak up, feeling frail to even concentrate away under this touch.

"So are you."

Luckily the road was least occupied on the outskirts so Jungkook turned to see him with full attention, catching him off guard by quickly grabbing his hand until Taehyung giggled. Jungkook swiftly intertwined it with his own, feeling how Taehyung leaned his head on his arm, giggling defeatedly. The brunet then sat up properly, still tilted towards him.

Taehyung's words resonated, "No wonder why you draw so beautifully. Your hands are beautiful." Jungkook couldn't help but smile, appreciating the acknowledgment of the connection between his hands and his art. Jungkook smiled at him, a smile he would rarely show to anyone and a smile which was so common for Taehyung.

"No wonder why you think everybody is beautiful, because your eyes are." Saying this Jungkook brought Taehyung's hand closer to his lips, kissing the back of it oh so gently.

While blushing madly, Taehyung let their hands be held, not wanting to break the connection they were sharing. He leaned back on his seat but turned in Jungkook's direction, not leaving his eyes away from him even for a second. Surrounded by fields of various flowers and lush green landscapes under the captivating cloudy sky, the weather itself was worth admiring. However, for Taehyung, his gaze remained fixed on Jungkook, unable to divert his attention from the captivating presence of the artist. His mind was in a haze full of thoughts. He felt like he was falling for him more and more every second. He wondered how he ended up having him this close, right next to him, hands in his own like they were meant to be.

"What are you thinking?" Jungkook asked, though his gaze was on the road but he could still see Taehyung through his side gaze.

"Lots of things."

"Things like?"

"Like how much my granny is gonna like you."

"Maybe."

"She will."

"Will I meet her?" Jungkook asked out of curiosity.

"Of course. You'll come with me and see her too."

"But it's you and your family and I think I'll be a misfit since they don't even know about me and-"

"So what? Don't we all have our first meetings?" Taehyung asked, looking a bit disappointed by Jungkook's choice of words.

"But-"

"Hush! You'll come in."

"She's sick, she needs rest and I definitely know she wouldn't be ready to meet new people."

"But I'll still take you in, watching a handsome guy wouldn't be a bother to her." Taehyung whispered casually and Jungkook only chuckled at him while driving them away.

He would always end up being defeated by his demands.

As they drove on for more minutes, they finally turned on the road leading towards Bucheon. In the urban area again, Jungkook momentarily let go of Taehyung's hand, his focus shifting to the grip on the steering wheel and gear lever. The urban environment demanded his full attention as the road unfolded before them. Taehyung didn't want to feel out of touch so he sprawled on the seat, letting his legs travel to Jungkook's thighs who smiled at his attempts of stealing his attention. The artist then let his free hand on his legs, tapping it gently.

"You'll have a sore body if you keep sitting like that."

"And sore eyes too if you won't stop looking this good."

There was something different with Taehyung that day, Jungkook could feel. He was acting very playful for some reason, more like getting flirtier day by day, not that Jungkook complained but he was already all into him but Taehyung kept giving him more reasons to love him more.

Unfortunately, the journey of a considerable span of minutes came to an end as they finally entered Bucheon.

"Can you guide me the way to her house?"

"Wait, are we already there?"

"Apparently yes."

Well spending time with Jungkook would never seem long.

Taehyung then guided Jungkook the way to his Granny's home, to a luxurious place situated in a suburban area where she lived with one of Taehyung's uncles.

As Jungkook drove into the designated area, a mix of emotions flooded him. Amazement overtook him as he observed the houses, and his eyes widened in surprise as he parked the car in front of the villa, the destination of their journey unveiling itself before them. After Jungkook parked the car in the front yard, Taehyung eagerly rushed towards the entrance but quickly retraced his steps, realising he had forgotten to grab Jungkook's arm to take him inside.

"Come on, let's go!"

"Slow down." Jungkook suggested but Taehyung continued to drag Jungkook until they were met with someone very familiar by the fountain in the front yard of the villa.

"Taehyung? What are you doing here?"

"Eomma?"

As they approached, Taehyung began mentally preparing himself for explaining the presence of his art teacher, someone his mother had never met before. Anticipating the need for smooth explanations, he readied himself for the conversation ahead.
