As if Jungkook's head wasn't already tangled by the hazel eyes, the captivating plum lips became an additional distraction. The close proximity intensified the impact, leaving Jungkook's mind in awe and slightly blown away. Being an artist he's gifted with this immense observing sense which he utilised to capture the minute details of the other male and in a matter of few seconds. From the mole under his eyes, on his nose and on the edge of his bottom lip. From the curves of his eyes, the length of the eyelashes and the shade of his cornea. His heart shaped lips, the bridge of his nose and the palm full of cheeks. Jungkook had captured it all in his mind.
Jungkook wouldn't deny the urge to touch and trace the features, his hands itching to capture every detail. The desire to run his fingers over them, to replicate the essence in one of his clay models, burned within him. He longed to breathe life into the formless mud, transforming it into the embodiment of the figure that had captivated him so deeply.
Not just his beauty but his heart, which stands just as beautifully as his exterior. He couldn't help but fall more. Taehyung is the most precious soul he had ever met. The existence of the other guy became evidence for Jungkook that yes maybe the world is still creating good creations or maybe the fantasies about angels on earth are somewhere true. Keeping this thought in mind, Jungkook began to create a new painting inspired by Taehyung. The body of the figure lying on top on a cloud, the exquisite face with the perfect body curves, the bare torso and the manhood hidden with a mellow silk piece floating down to his legs. The hair as curly and wavy as Aphrodite, the features like that of a Greek God's but body petite and feminine as an angel. Jungkook hadn't seen Taehyung naked but this was how he imagined him to look. From his well fitting clothes on his frame to his body proportions, this was how Jungkook designed his body in his mind. He worked on the body first, thoughts too occupied in adorning the features and depth of the curves of his heavenly body. He hadn't worked on the face yet, wanting to see his model one more time but he kept himself indulged in it until he heard the familiar sound of footsteps against the door following with a knock. Though it was a lazy Sunday afternoon, as per Taehyung's loads of assignments given by his teacher, he had to take help from his master and Jungkook could never deny any of his demands so it must be definitely him at the time and the artist needed to hide his work because he just broke his own boundaries which he was trying to maintain. The artist stopped in his actions when he realised that Taehyung already walked inside into the free space of his living room, a wooden framed canvas in his hand and his classic leather bag hanging through his shoulder. He had his chin against the top boundary of the canvas in his hand, watching Jungkook sneakily. The artist was carelessly half naked, the jeans ripped on his thighs and knees. His hair half tied and half hair freely in his shoulder plus the iconic new tattoos on his right arm.
"Hey!" Jungkook called out with a welcoming smile and Taehyung retracted his gaze away, laying the canvas on one of the wooden tables.
"Jungkook-nim… I needed your help." Taehyung requested softly, looking down and Jungkook put his brush and palette down before approaching the brunet, always ready in his service.
"What is it?" He asked and Taehyung pouted, sitting on the wooden chair near the table.
"I tried to paint another painting but the background and the details, it looks so incomplete. I saw some of my friends' creations and mine seemed literally stupid."
Jungkook leaned against the table, hands resting on either side of the canvas, thoroughly examining every detail with focused attention.
"You tried to paint a scenery, looks like Paris street, isn't it?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung nodded, looking up at him with shiny eyes.
"Will you please help me find out what I am missing?"
"Mmm… the missing thing is nothing but the shades of it, Tae, and some figures need outlining. Did you try forming lines of the building? And why don't you make outlines of the Eiffel tower here, it will stand out perfectly if you do." Jungkook suggested and Taehyung only furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"Look, these lines of the Eiffel tower you made, what if you try out with some pen instead of a brush, the lines will be fine and fair. Try it." Jungkook handed Taehyung a thin marker from his own pen stand, the other male taking it and gazing at his painting to understand what the artist was intending to say.
"Do I have to trace it on all the lines? Inner and outer?" Taehyung asked and Jungkook nodded his head in agreement.
"Try it."
Taehyung started doing as he was told, relining the figures with the marker on his canvas.
"Tae, do it like this. Don't be afraid of it missing the paint brush line. Draw on the edge so the painted line will look like its shadow." The artist suggested again.
"Huh?"
"Ah, let me show." After explaining, Jungkook stood behind Taehyung's chair, holding his hand with his own and leaning over his back to demonstrate well. In a daze, Taehyung felt Jungkook's hand on top of his own, the artist's face inching closer to his neck. A subtle gulp escaped the brunet as he sensed the cool touch of the metal locket belonging to Jungkook against his nape, a contrast to the warmth of Jungkook's hand. Jungkook tried not to distract himself but to focus on what needed to be done. He started tracing lines with Taehyung's hand, teaching him by demonstrating how to actually do it and the brunet just melted into the touch, shrinking between his arms and trying to stay calm even after the flood of thoughts in his head.
"That's how you do it. Doesn't it look brighter now?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung wasn't sure of what he was talking about as he was just distracted by something else so he stayed quiet. Jungkook was observing his actions and finally let go of Taehyung's hand, placing it on the table instead and watching Taehyung's face from the side, bringing his lips closer to his ear.
"Tae?" Jungkook whispered against his ear, sending chills down Taehyung's spine who dropped the pen from his hand unknowingly.
Choosing silence, Jungkook held onto the unspoken connection, opting to gaze at Taehyung's face. Entranced, he found himself drawn to the scent of the expensive floral cologne wafting from Taehyung's neck. Curiosity led Jungkook to peek beneath the collar of the shirt, revealing the alluring sight of his neck and collarbones hidden beneath through that angle. Jungkook wasn't sure of making the move. Was he freaking the guy out? Is it okay to do this? Taehyung literally calls him 'nim' out of respect. Is it too early? Or is it even right?
The loads of questions in the artist's head had him taking a step back. No matter what goes in his heart, he needs to stay within his boundaries to keep their connection unbroken. He decided to stand back straight and turn himself around to go and check his own canvas which he was working on.
"Continue with what you were doing, Tae, if you have more doubts I'm here." Saying this Jungkook tried to distract himself with his canvas, taking advantage of his position which allowed him to steal glances of Taehyung's face to work on the face of his current painting. Taehyung could only see the back of the canvas settled on the wooden frame instead of the painting, he wondered what the artist was working on but he chose to ignore that and decided to focus on his own work instead which was due to be submitted.
They had to come back to reality after experiencing what just happened momentarily. The living room was then soon filled with silence as they both were working on their separate creations while sneakily stealing glances of each other. Coincidentally they didn't pass glances at each other at the same time, completely oblivious of each other's intentions. Taehyung indulged himself in his work and so did Jungkook who had formed the shape of the brunet's face to an extent where anyone can recognise who it was. And if Taehyung would see it he would be surprised as hell. So the artist decided to lower the canvas before the latter could notice.
"What is it?" Taehyung asked on cue out of curiosity and Jungkook looked up at him.
"Are you done with your work?" Jungkook asked instead and Taehyung nodded, proudly showing his canvas to him and a smile crept on Jungkook's face.
"You did it very nicely. Does it look bright enough now?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung checked it himself, smiling at it when he noticed the visible difference.
"Yes, it is what I was wondering I lacked. Damn, how can I be so dumb?" Taehyung hit his free hand on his head cutely, causing Jungkook to chuckle.
"Now show me what you made." The brunet insisted as a result of curiosity, putting down his canvas and hastily approaching the artist.
"You can't see until it's complete." Jungkook announced and didn't let the other one peek into it.
"But why?" He asked, pouting out of sheer disappointment.
"No, it's my rule. You can't see until it's done."
"But I want to see."
"No." It was the first time ever in life when Jungkook had denied Taehyung's request whose soft eyes looked down sadly, instantly making Jungkook drown in regret.
"Ah, I mean it's just. It's in its initial stage, looks like a complete mess. I'll show you when I'm done." Jungkook tried to convince, speaking softly.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
The brunet finally smiled, lightning up the artist's dull world again.
"By the way Jungkook-nim…" The brunet began as Jungkook put the canvas down, the front facing the wall as he made it stand by the wall's support. The precious painting was still hidden from Taehyung's eyes.
"Yes?"
"What do you do with all the paintings you make?" The brunet asked and Jungkook smiled at his question.
"Look around you." Jungkook pointed to the paintings around the wall.
"No, I mean other than hanging. You're always painting something and as far as I'm concerned these are not your only creations." Taehyung stated facts and Jungkook chuckled softly at how curious he sounded.
"You mean I sell them or something?"
"Do you?"
"Not actually. I just keep them with me. Spending time with them, making them with so much love and devotion I can't detach them from me so easily. So the new ones I make, I hang here and if I feel like watching them a lot, I keep them in my basement." Jungkook answered honestly and Taehyung listened to him with full attention.
"In the basement? All of them?"
"All of them."
Taehyung wandered his eyes into space while thinking and Jungkook just looked at him with a soft gaze. The brunet then played with his fingers as he was keeping himself to speak out his thoughts.
"Can I see your basement?" The brunet finally revealed his desire and after already denying his request Jungkook couldn't dare to break his heart again.
"Do you really wanna see?"
And the other male nodded repeatedly.
"Okay." Jungkook agreed with a smile, gesturing Taehyung to follow him which Taehyung was quick to follow until they were standing at the end of the living room from where the stairs to the basement were beginning. Jungkook opened its door and stepped down and Taehyung followed him. Entering the basement, Jungkook swiftly found the switch, filling the space with light. Taehyung's mouth fell open in astonishment at the unexpected sight before him. To say the brunet was surprised would be an understatement. The basement's expansive dimensions were filled with a multitude of items, showcasing Jungkook's immense talent. Canvases leaned against each other, numerous gypsum models of the human body, ceramics, and large vases adorned the space, reflecting the artist's diverse and highly skilled endeavours.
"It's… IT'S LIKE A MUSEUM!" The brunet freaked out and his voice echoed in the free space, scaring him later. Jungkook laughed slightly before walking in the aisle between the shelves around where the things were resting. Taehyung looked all around curiously, and couldn't resist himself from touching the models on the shelves.
"I feel like this place is gonna be filled up in a while or so." Jungkook revealed and kept on walking further while Taehyung got distracted by a naked woman’s sculpture and beside her was a naked man, both seeming to have some intimate moment going on and the man had her hand on her 'that area', covering it.
Jungkook tried to stifle his laughter as he saw Taehyung's judgmental yet curious gaze. Taehyung's eyes landed on a model of a completely naked male, catching sight of exposed anatomy, and his expression shifted from curiosity to shock, his cheeks taking on a rosy hue. Taehyung curiously tried to touch his torso, the features too real.
"It's dusty." Jungkook spoke up and Taehyung jolted in surprise, retracting back quickly.
"This… this is too… wow… you made all of this?" After being caught red handedly Taehyung asked him nervously and Jungkook nodded with a fond smile on his face.
"Wow? All of this, this and this?" Taehyung pointed at all the paintings and the naked models and Jungkook kept nodding in agreement.
"Yes, all of this."
Taehyung's face was beaming with amazement. The guy looked very impressed with the artist's boundless creations displayed there.
"You're so talented Jungkook-nim. I can't even imagine how amazing they are. This is seriously so much and everything is… worth keeping in a museum." Taehyung complimented honestly and the artist looked down timidly.
"Is it?"
"Of course and why are you keeping all of this here? The world needs to see this. Why don't you think about some auctions or maybe exhibitions and things like that. I mean these are just laying here for nothing. They deserve appreciation. Each one of them." Taehyung said enthusiastically, admiring the paintings one by one while walking into the aisle to admire them more.
"I don't do this for money but for passion Tae, I'm already satisfied with my job." Jungkook shared his thoughts with Taehyung who turned to face him, observing slight changes of expressions on the artist's face.
"There's nothing wrong in being paid for your passion. I mean passion as a profession becomes everything. You should think about my suggestion because Jungkook-nim what you have here is a treasure worth millions." Taehyung encouraged him, words holding truthfulness. His words of appreciation left the artist speechless who only stared at only one treasure in the room, worthier than billions or trillions. Jungkook had never received this much appreciation in his life ever before and never saw someone admiring his creations more than he did. How would he not let Taehyung sway his heart away?
He kept his eyes on Taehyung who was taking his time in admiring each and every creation made by him thoroughly whilst the longest duration of staring at the brunet would still be less to the artist. The artist was too busy to even realise what Taehyung had suggested for him to do but the brunet was determined to make his artist recognised. Jeon Jungkook needs to be appreciated like any other artist and Taehyung was determined to make it real.
