07. Be My Model

These serene interactions became a part of their lives, the best moment out of their routine that soon even a good break of weekends would seem endless. It's necessary for them to have a break, an escape from their daily tiring routines but no, Taehyung's tranquillity was not the enchanted walls of the millions of dollars or luxury. His tranquillity was art and Jeon Jungkook became the reason for it. It was a Sunday morning and hence, no class for the day but Taehyung needed to paint something so he arranged his stool and canvas frame on the balcony, surrounded by lush plants and creepers adorning the white cemented borders. The morning sun resulted in a warm glow on his golden skin and gently permed wavy hair, creating a picturesque scene as he sat in his casual attire amid the blossoming surroundings. He tried to keep his mind off different things, trying to complete his due projects. He couldn't even bring himself to start because he didn't have anything on his mind. Squeezing some shades on his palette, he tilted his head staring at the plain canvas to visualise something before actually starting. The colourful plants decorating his balcony weren't even inspiring him that day. He sighed roughly before turning around, his eyes falling on his brother in the gigantic green lawn of their villa. Taehyung watched him playing golf with his father, getting an urge to ask them to be his models but they would not agree easily because they had their break from work too so he just decided to draw them like that. Taehyung gazed at them from afar, closing one eye to focus on their tiny frames from his view. He tried to trace them on his canvas with a pencil and when he would try to focus and observe again, they would move. Taehyung erased his previous figure to draw again but his brother and father kept moving every time they hit the ball. The brunet blew air upwards through his lips into his brown permed hair defeatedly, annoyance visible on his face. He carried his canvas and walked into his bedroom, dropping it on his bed to go downstairs.

"Mom!" He called out, trying to search for her in her bedroom but she seemed busy wearing her pearl jewellery as if she was getting ready to go somewhere.

"Mom, I need your help."

"What is it, sunshine?"

"I need you to be my model for my painting." The brunet let her know, catching her attention who turned her head from the mirror to him with an apologetic smile.

"Oh darling, I'm going to see your aunt today. Maybe some other time?" She informed him before turning back to check herself in the mirror again. Taehyung had no choice but to hang his head low sadly before going back to his room. The boy was upset, no one was there to help him complete his project. But then suddenly someone crossed his mind. Having no choice he carried his phone, sighing exhaustively before doing what he shouldn't.

"Jungkook-nim? Do you mind if I come over? I needed some help."

And could Jungkook deny? No.

And Taehyung's weekend wouldn't be boring any longer as he asked his driver to drop him to Jungkook's place as the guy had already informed his brother before leaving. Taehyung brought his canvas with himself as he managed to knock on Jungkook's door after his driver left him at the spot. He kept knocking until he heard Jungkook's voice, asking him to come in and he entered after getting in through the unlocked door. Jungkook seemed highly engrossed in a piece of white clay and designing something with so much concentration. He was back facing Taehyung who walked towards him silently, wondering what he was up to until he realised Jungkook was shirtless. His dishevelled hair was tied in a messy bun like always, signature style of him when he would work. But that day he was in his complete form. Only a pair of ripped jeans underneath his torso as his strong wide muscular back was nicely tanned, golden skin glowing in hazel eyes of the brunet who was enjoying the view silently. The canvas fell off Taehyung's hand as the guy was so mesmerised by the movement of those back muscles everytime Jungkook would move and that falling of canvas created a sound that caused Jungkook to lose his concentration for a moment to turn around to find the brunet.

"Oh, why are you standing there? Come here." Jungkook called him over before fully turning to him, carrying a cloth to wipe his hands and tapping his face with his forearm.

And there was something more than the abs that were visible to those mischief hazel eyes. The well built pecs on the chest and the perfect Greek God's body that Taehyung noticed in him… and the tattoos? The fresh tattoos on Jungkook's arm. Taehyung's eyes instantly traced the inked designs all over Jungkook's right arm, his mouth agape. Jungkook knitted his eyebrows in confusion, following his gaze to find how he was staring at his tattoos.

Jungkook chuckled and walked over to reach him until he stood in front of him, the brunet's eyes growing bigger by the close up view and the artist showed him his arm proudly.

"How does it look?" He asked, extending his arm to show him better.

"Wow… when did you get them?" The brunet asked, still staring in awe.

"Yesterday. I was trying to get it for a very long time and I finally could. Is it good?" Jungkook asked again and Taehyung nodded rapidly, eyes shiny and a smile creeping on his lips.

"This is so cool." He touched his arm, forgetting that they were fresh and Jungkook winced slightly, causing the brunet to retract away in fear.

"I- I'm so sorry, I-"

"It's okay, don't worry. They are just a little sore today, and will be better soon." Jungkook assured him. Taehyung's eyes fell on his face, the endearing smile and galaxy in his eyes —complete softness on his face whenever he would look at him. He then travelled his eyes down to Jungkook’s bare chest, both things completely opposite.

"You said you needed help, what is it?" Jungkook reminded him and Taehyung kept staring at his torso shamelessly.

"It- it was- I… I wanted to-" He stuttered, trying to break out of his daze and not knowing what to say as he was highly distracted by the artist.

"What is it?" Jungkook asked again, gently placing his folded finger under Taehyung’s chin, lifting up his face to make his gaze fall on his face instead. Taehyung's adorable round eyes blinked innocently as he noticed the teasing smile on Jungkook's face. The artist knew very well what this brunet was staring at for a long time. Taehyung's cheeks turned as red as a tomato when he looked away shyly, bending down to carry his canvas instead after gulping.

"I want to complete my project but I need a model." Taehyung informed without looking at Jungkook, too shy to face him again who was smiling all the time after catching him slipping in broad daylight.

"Oh, is that so?"

The brunet nodded, eyes still fixed on the floor.

"So how can I help you with it? By being a model?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung's red cheeks were more red when he looked up to face him again, finding that flirtatious smile on the elder's face.

Oh damn, how amazing will it be to have Jungkook as his model, to stare at all of his features and body with a strong excuse?

"But you could just sit in front of a mirror with your canvas, Taehyung. I bet, there's no such model like you." Jungkook said it so casually as he turned around to check his clay model again while Taehyung blushed insanely, face blank in pure amazement and his heart? Don't ask, it was just ready to jump out of his chest. Jungkook then turned his head to look at him over his shoulder, grinning in a low-key manner.

"So you're denying to be my model?" The brunet asked with suspicion, and Jungkook turned fully to face him again.

"No I didn't but why me?"

"Because you're, you're just- just cool. I mean you're perfect- I mean to say that you are perfect for my canvas and you just- just…" The brunet tried to bring his words together to speak but he was just panicking internally, feeling his limbs shaking in the process while looking at Jungkook who nodded his head in an encouraging manner, waiting for him to finish saying but he just couldn't.

"Just- wow." Taehyung then popped like a balloon, couldn't even describe how amazing Jungkook was and the artist burst into a laugh. Taehyung knitted his eyebrows together in confusion, curling his lips in an attempt to smile but he didn't know if it was even right to do at the very moment.

"Oh my my, you're so adorable. Come here." Jungkook walked towards him, taking his hand before dragging him near the casement where there was his set up, still laughing while shaking his head and Taehyung faked a smile with eyebrows still knitted in confusion, not knowing what to do.

"Okay, let me wear my shirt. I'll sit here for you to draw me." Jungkook suggested but Taehyung shook his head.

"No I mean I don't have to draw the face but just the body. I want to draw you like this, means you as just- you know I…" Taehyung tried to say again while Jungkook waited for him to finish again.

"You what?" Jungkook asked again while Taehyung looked down, fiddling with his fingers.

"Tae?"

"Ah nothing, I'm just wasting your time I'll ask someone else." Taehyung blurted out frustratedly, trying to turn away but the artist clutched his arm, pulling him towards himself until Taehyung's ear was near his lips. The artist checked his side view thoroughly, eyes soft in admiration as Taehyung's panicked state only brought a wide smile on Jungkook's lips.

"Why someone else when I'm here?" He asked with a slight of possession hidden beneath his voice and Taehyung's eyes widened, almost about to pop out of his sockets so Jungkook decided to show some mercy, letting him be on his own for good and getting back away.

"Okay I'll just sit here till you draw me." The artist said after letting go of him. Taehyung turned his head in the artist's direction. Jungkook then sat on his stool for Taehyung, bare torso as he rested his arm between his thighs, arms flexed.

"Draw me above my chest, will it be easy for you to complete? Should I sit like this, or maybe lay down?" Jungkook asked again and again, changing his poses while Taehyung enjoyed the view.

"Should I just-"

"Sit there, please." And Taehyung then pointed to his flower garden outside, wanting him to lay between the flowers and give them a competition of its own.

"Wow, good suggestion."

Jungkook opened the casement to walk into his garden, deciding to lay onto the grass amid flowers. He folded his one elbow and rested his face in his hand as he laid on his side, plucking some flowers to cover half of his face.

"Will it be okay? You don't need a face right?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung nodded in agreement. He was so touched by Jungkook's efforts that he just didn't want to waste more time but quickly settled his canvas and started drawing him while Jungkook, being on his own, swirled the flowers and sometimes played with the strands of his hair out of boredom.

Despite easy distractions, Taehyung made a conscious effort to concentrate on his canvas. Swiftly completing the background, he gently blew air to fasten the drying process. With a brush dipped in beige and brown shades, he continuously observed Jungkook's form, aiming to replicate it with precision on his canvas.

He tried to form the same curves he had, the same features, the small waist with wide chest, the toned abs and the flexing muscles.

Time flew away effortlessly and Jungkook was getting tired but he tried to stay still for Taehyung who was so immersed in doing his best and Jungkook took this opportunity to stare at him. The brunet exuded a captivating aura in his concentration, with pouty lips and long eyelashes grazing his cheeks each time he cast his gaze downward at the canvas. His graceful brush movements added an enchanting rhythm to the mesmerising scene. Taehyung artfully concealed Jungkook's face with a delicate arrangement of flowers and tousled hair, mirroring the same floral motif in the background. The canvas came to life as flowers and butterflies adorned both the subject and the surroundings, adding a touch of enchantment to the masterpiece in progress.

"Jungkook-nim, you can sit now. I just have to finish this and some other details." Taehyung insisted and Jungkook laid back exhaustively, straightening his back, then sitting up and standing up to walk towards Taehyung. Stretching his arms, Jungkook stood behind Taehyung to inspect the artwork, and his amazement was evident. Taehyung skillfully depicted flowers encircling Jungkook's bare torso, enhancing his allure in the painting. The captivating portrayal left Jungkook so enthralled that he had to lean in for a closer look, appreciating the heightened allure captured on the canvas.

"Taehyung!" Jungkook exclaimed happily and the brunet jolted by the way he called him, he thought he did something wrong. The brunet got up from his stool in surprise.

"What?" He asked, frightened.

"Wow, this is too good!" Jungkook carried the canvas in his hands to appreciate better, his gleaming eyes admiring the painting.

"Woah… woah… this is very amazing!" Once more, Jungkook offered his admiration, placing the canvas back in its position before surprising Taehyung with a warm side hug. The shared moment reflected both appreciation for the art and the genuine connection between the two.

"Really?"

"This is seriously so good." Jungkook complimented again, his face gleaming with pure joy that a huge smile crept on Taehyung's lips that was an outcome of satisfaction.

"Thanks, Jungkook-nim."

"No thanks to you, wow. This is worth decorating in a museum. Seriously wow."

"Ah it's not that good, you're lying." Taehyung whined in disagreement with overflowing shyness.

"You think I'm lying?" Jungkook asked, sounding serious.

"I just am proud of how catchy, understanding and a good learner you are. This painting itself shows that you don't need a teacher like me anymore."

The palette slipped from Taehyung's grasp, his eyes welling up with emotion as an unexpected wave of sentiment washed over him. Why would Jungkook say this?

"No, this piece of drawing is ugly, very ugly and I don't know how to draw. This is just trash. I don't know anything-" and Jungkook chuckled softly, shaking his head at his adorableness before holding Taehyung's shoulders to stop him.

"Oh God, you really take words too seriously sometimes. I'm happy as long as you're coming here, just telling you, you're learning way too fast." Jungkook remarked honestly before patting his head with pride and turning to admire the canvas. As Taehyung gazed at him, he realised that words would perpetually fall short in capturing the depth of what Jungkook meant to him and the profound connection they had forged. There's more than just paintings that Jungkook taught him and he had no answers to tell himself what was the reason behind those butterflies in his belly with mere actions by the other. Why was he so affected by his bare minimums? Jungkook could just breathe next to him and he would just be glad that he exists. If this isn't what you guys think it is, then I don't know what it is.
