05. Special Student

An enchanting journey awaited the two males, promising a new beginning—a chance for them to draw closer, to savour each other's presence and essence, embarking on a beautiful shared experience.

After that agreement the next day was quick to come and the first day of lessons for the younger male who was highly anticipated to learn from the very talented artist.

The evening before the anticipated meeting, Jungkook arranged stools and canvas within the confines of his living room, a space that would soon be transformed into a classroom. In a subtle flurry of panic, he diligently cleaned the house, though the brunet had already been there before but the artist still wanted to leave marks of impression on the other.

The following day marked their rendezvous at Jungkook's place, the brunet was prepared with an elegantly curated leather bag filled with his art essentials. Dressed in timeless attire, he adorned himself with a newfound affection for a beret, a symbol of his evolving artistic passion.

"How did your day go in school, Taehyung?" Jungkook asked as they were walking to Jungkook's place from the school.

Fortunately the artist owned his house near the school for convenience, and this way they would have some time to walk together in the day. This fortuitous proximity also allowed them the luxury of sharing a leisurely stroll together during the day, fostering a bond beyond the canvas and stools that awaited them in the artist's creatively adorned living space.

The way back home was something very special due to the abundance of trees and plants on the borders of the road. The symphony of rustling of the leaves and the soft breezes became something therapeutic for the artist and would always help him feel lightened after a hectic day, something the brunet noticed that day while walking side by side with him, forging a connection beyond the shared passion for art.

The wavy bounce of the artist's long hair in the air would always serve as a bonus whenever the breezes would come their way.

"Went very good Jungkook-nim, how was your day with your bunnies?" Taehyung finally answered the awaited reply and Jungkook immediately chuckled at the mention of his chaotic students.

"Everyday with them is amazing." Jungkook answered with sheer honesty and the other male could only scrunch his nose at their adorableness because he had witnessed them too. Why wouldn't they be spoiled? Jungkook seemed like such a wholesome person, afterall. This would always steal Taehyung's attention and make him focus on him which he would realise soon too. Taehyung found himself staring at the other one in the broad daylight. He then decided to look away, lifting his head up a little as he admired the trees.

"Jungkook-nim…"

"Yeah?"

"I envy you." Taehyung whispered through encircled pouty lips, showing off his enviousness.

"Why so?" The artist asked, so willing to hear him as he stared at his face from the side to read his expressions which held an ounce of innocence hidden beneath.

"Do you walk this way everyday?"

"Well I don't have any other way so yeah."

"Then I envy you. This is so refreshing and relishing, walking home this way." Taehyung spoke with a downcasted face, puzzling the other male.

"You don't walk often?"

"Appa and hyung never allow me to. I'm given this car and driver-nim to go around and I hate being caged in four wheels when I want to breathe the fresh air and travel the way through my feet." Taehyung confessed and Jungkook's expressions turned to softer ones after his little rant.

"Then we will walk more often, always like this." Jungkook said with a smile of confidence that caught Taehyung's heart for a moment, giving him a reason to look up at the other one and repay him with the same smile.

He's just too good to be true.

Just at the end of his sentence they were already at the porch of the house. Jungkook quickly went in to unlock the door for them to enter.

"Welcome to the Jeon Art School on your first day, Mr. Kim Taehyung." Jungkook bowed dramatically before welcoming the other male who burst out into a hysterical laugh.

"Thanks for having me, the very talented artist of the century Mr. Jeon Jungkook." The other male joined him right in this mini skit before bowing too until the two males stood properly and laughed just when their eyes met again.

"Okay, seriously welcome to my home." Jungkook then said on a serious note and Taehyung stepped in, walking inside through that vestibule space that accommodated some flower plants. Jungkook instantly went ahead of Taehyung to unlock the casements after moving the drapes away, brightening the house with the natural light of the day and the cold breezes rushed in with that aroma of fresh young flowers blooming in the yard.

All the beautiful paintings adorned on the walls and sculpted models around every corner came to life as the radiant light landed upon them, brightening the ambience of the house which seemed cleaner and organised than before.

The plain white gypsum sculptures were no less than characters of a story untold and every body curve was formed so perfectly that the young male couldn't help but trace his fingers on the torso of a sculpted man placed on the table closest to him, the well built physique, the features of a Greek God's, maybe resembling with this alive human who made them.

Tracing his fingers on the prominence of the model along lingering his eyes from its chest to the abdomen, Taehyung was dumbstruck by its perfection. The muscular toned body, defined abs and then going down to the V line of the crotch below his waist where the torso was ending. The artist found Taehyung examining his model with curious gleaming eyes, accounting for an eruption of a smile on the artist's face to find those curious kitten eyes travelling on the plain white gypsum model created by him.

"Is it really that good?" Jungkook had to ask to catch the other's attention but he unintendedly caught him off guard instead, causing the younger male to retract his hand back away.

"You made it yourself?" He asked and the artist chuckled.

"Yeah."

"This is very… very amazing. It looks so real. As if I'm seriously touching a man- oh shit didn't mean to say —oh no I didn't mean to curse- Ah oh no, I'm so sorry."

The artist couldn't help but laugh lightly at the other male's cute panic, the adorableness too much to take.

"It's okay if you touched it, it's okay that you cursed mistakenly, just don't worry." Jungkook then walked closer to pat Taehyung's shoulder, before gesturing to him to follow him where the stool and canvas frame was settled for him to work on. Taehyung smiled warmly, Jungkook knew very well how to lift hearts and he surely did with Taehyung.

"Is there something you want to eat or drink?" The artist asked his new student as he walked towards his kitchen.

"Wow, my new school provides me catering services too?" The younger male asked and caused the artist to chuckle.

"Yeah, so, juice will work?"

"If you insist."

Jungkook then poured some orange juice in two clean glasses which he decorated with a slice of lemon and some mint, causing Taehyung to smile so big.

"You're an artist for a reason." Taehyung remarked as Jungkook brought the glasses to him and handed one to his student after chuckling.

"I live up to my name."

Taehyung couldn't help but fall for the way he was so down to earth and soft spoken person who is so easy to be around with. Jungkook is unlike others.

With this they drank the juices and Jungkook kept the glasses aside before starting his first class.

"So what does Mr. Kim want to learn first? Is there something you want to draw today?" Jungkook asked the younger male who just settled on his stool, wondering what to paint.

"You're the teacher Jungkook-nim, whatever you will teach me I'll learn." Jungkook smiled before sitting next to him on his stool in front of the canvas frame.

"It's your first day so I want to see you paint something so that I can prepare suggestions for you." Jungkook suggested and Taehyung nodded in agreement.

"So what do you want to try?"

"Umm, anything but easy."

Jungkook chuckled at his demand before turning his head around to look for a prop.

His eyes landed on the vibrant flowers blooming in his garden, standing up and walking out through the casement windows, he plucked a few of the flowers from his yard before settling them in a vase and placed the prop on a table right in front of Taehyung's setup.

"Can you paint this?" Jungkook asked and the younger male nodded, gazing at the flowers.

"I want to see your colouring technique."

"I'll try my best."

With this Jungkook sat next to Taehyung, handing him his palette, colours and brushes.

Taehyung took them hesitantly, feeling incredibly nervous with the thought of being judged by the very amazing artist himself but Jungkook's gaze was softer than stern.

He just silently admired the male rather than the painting the brunet began to work on, beginning with the plain background.

Jungkook just silently watched him and his creation back and forth, noticing the minute details and the way of Taehyung's working, who seemed visibly nervous as his hands were shaky.

"Don't be scared, keep your hand stable." Jungkook suggested and Taehyung held the brush tighter.

"Now just carelessly spread the colours, form strokes darker on the borders and bright in the middle for that focus in the centre. It's just the background so be carefree with your hand." Jungkook suggested and Taehyung took notes of everything he told him, and keeping these things in his mind he continued.

Jungkook was highly contended that Taehyung would sit back from time to time to analyse his work and silently pass Jungkook gaze, questioning him if he was doing well and the artist would encourage with mere blinks as a green flag to go on.

Soon Taehyung began to work on the painting once he was done with the background and Jungkook wouldn't lie but he got distracted by the male. Glowing with the sunlight streaming through the open casements falling on his golden skin. Against the backdrop of a floral yard, he observed Taehyung engrossed in painting, resembling another flower in the scene, yet standing out as the most beautiful and enduring one. Taehyung's side view was something definitely to admire, his propositioned features and the long eyelashes Jungkook was highly smitten by and the new distraction —the cute moles on his nose, under his eye and on the side of his bottom lip. Jungkook was spellbound, eyes grasping every detail and depths of Taehyung's features from close up, he could just paint another picture of him.

"Jungkook-Min…" Taehyung whispered and turned to see the other male who was caught red handed staring at him. Jungkook instantly averted his gaze away, coughing slightly in an awkward manner.

"Yeah?" The artist then asked.

"The vase is glassy, yet I don't know how to depict the shine of the real glass. Mine looks so dull and opaque." The brunet complained and Jungkook ran his gaze on the original vase and the picture back and forth to notice the difference. He wouldn't lie but Taehyung had copied the original version very well but just the shine he was talking about was missing.

"White is the brightest colour, if you add it on the edges where the glass vase is glowing, it will help the picture look real. Wait let me show you." Jungkook took the brush from his hand and Taehyung peered at the canvas, observing how Jungkook just turned the picture into a real vase within seconds.

"Wow. It looks so real!" Taehyung exclaimed in surprise.

"Now you know how to do it. Will you be able to do it next time?" Jungkook asked and his student nodded obediently.

"I think the painting is complete?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung sat back to admire his creation for a moment.

"Did it turn out well?" He asked.

"Honestly…" Jungkook began and Taehyung's eyes were already shining, waiting for a compliment.

"It's very amazing. Talking of colours, I think you took note of the advice I gave you early. The blend of bright on dark is so amazing. I'm glad with the result, Taehyung." Jungkook complimented genuinely before taking the canvas in his hand to check thoroughly.

"Ah no… it's not that good." Taehyung was in a panic, causing him to deny the allegations of being good at painting and Jungkook chuckled at his act of shyness before standing up.

"Learn to take compliments Mr. Min." Jungkook mocked Taehyung with the same sentence he once said to him and the brunet grinned when he realised.

"But getting compliments from Jungkook-nim is unusual."

"Then be habitual of it." Jungkook winked at him before turning his back, unaware of the mess Taehyung was in right after it. His cheeks heated up naturally. Why, though? Maybe he let Jungkook play with his heart with ease and let the ground beneath his feet shift away.

Jungkook was too hot for that.

The artist with that painting in his hand searched for an empty space on his wall which he couldn’t find so he decided to take off one of the paintings to replace it with Taehyung's creation who was just sitting and watching him doing so.

"My very special student's first creation." Jungkook remarked before hanging it on the wall and Taehyung was taken aback by what he just said. He literally took off his painting to replace it with Taehyung's which for Taehyung didn't stand anywhere near the rest of the paintings Jungkook had hung around. Since when did he become this special to the other?

"Special student?" Taehyung asked, sheer amazement on his face and Jungkook turned to look at him with a fond smile on his face.

"Yes… very special." And Jungkook too replied too confidently, making Taehyung's heart sing a different melody.

Every aspect of the artist left an indelible impression, and the admiration from Taehyung seemed ceaseless. It was evident that Jungkook-nim was intricately weaving something profound with his heart, a sentiment that lingered in the air, transcending the canvas and creating a connection beyond the strokes of artistry.
