04. Be My Teacher

Awakening to the presence of Taehyung's majestic painting in his room was sufficient to brighten Jungkook's morning. But discovering the charming brunet at his door left him momentarily awestruck, his eyes blinking rapidly in sheer amazement. He had no idea that Taehyung was full of surprises. But it's just the beginning.

"Taehyung?" The older male asked in wonder, resisting himself from shaking his hair further and the younger male softly wiped the droplets off his face before smiling.

"Good morning, Mr. Artist." Taehyung greeted with a respectful bow, greeting the artist with his endearing smile.

"You're here?" Jungkook asked, mouth widened like his eyes.

"Hmm… Jungkook-nim doesn't seem pleased to see me?" Taehyung asked lightly, narrowing his mischief eyes in suspicion. Jungkook shook his head, slightly panicking.

"No but I didn't expect to see you here this early."

"Mmm… Jungkook-nim, it's because I needed one favour. It's okay if you say no once you don't like the idea but listen to me once please." Taehyung requested so politely, tips of index fingers tapping together out of pure nervousness.

"Come in."

Jungkook gave him space by moving away from the doorframe, letting the younger one enter. Taehyung seemed hesitant but stepped in, following Jungkook inside.

"Don't wanna sound like a creep but I asked for your address from the staff in the school. Sorry if I asked without your permission but you're always busy with so much school work so I couldn't just talk there and- woah." While continuously speaking and following Jungkook inside through his vestibule of the house, Taehyung stopped himself from talking as he entered the living room, his mouth gaping in awe to see the alluring view.

Situated in a tranquil neighbourhood, Jungkook's house graced a generously big green yard. With just two wooden floors, it exuded a charming simplicity. The interior was not only spacious but also remarkably pretty and invitingly cosy. The living room, adorned with glass casement windows, offered a picturesque view of the yard where Jungkook lovingly cultivated flowers. A gift from his parents, this house served as his haven—a sanctuary of comfort and joy, a place where inspiration thrived, and artistic masterpieces effortlessly unfolded. The well-ventilated and naturally bright ambiance needed no artificial light during daytime, creating an inherently beautiful and warmly welcoming atmosphere. The home screamed its belongingness with an artist.

Taehyung found himself wandering his eyes on every minor detail of the living room. At the heart of the living room were plush couches surrounding a table, positioned strategically near the fireplace. Adjacent to the fireplace, an LED screen adorned the wall. On the opposite side, a canvas frame stood against the casement, with a smeared floor nearby, complemented by a carpet on the rest of the place. The living space was artfully adorned with expansive shelves, showcasing an array of ceramics and sculpted torso and body figures, adding aesthetic charm to every corner. Situated in one of the corners, the stairs gracefully connected the upper and lower floors, completing the harmonious design of Jungkook's creative haven. His house was a work of art, just how he was.

"Taehyung?" Jungkook had to call his name to get his attention while Taehyung snapped out of his thoughts, quickly facing Jungkook. Poor guy forgot that he owns a villa consisting of rooms bigger than his entire house but he was amazed by the beauty and the simplicity of it with the writer's essence all around as if the entire house was his studio, not just a place to live.

"Please sit down." Jungkook offered, gesturing him to sit on his couch and Taehyung gave nods before sitting down and Jungkook decided to sit next to him.

"Your house… wow." Taehyung complimented, still mesmerised and eyes stuck on that particular corner of the living room, adorned with his creations.

"You have created all of this?" Taehyung asked, his innocent yet curious side unfolding as he pointed towards them and Jungkook turned to see, chuckling softly.

"Yes they are."

"Woah… you can make ceramics too? And these nakey sculptures? The details wow." Taehyung admired quietly, clasping his hands together in admiration while Jungkook let out a laugh at his 'nakey'.

"Anyway, you were talking about getting my address?" Jungkook distracted him from his creations and Taehyung instantly faced him with full attention.

"Ah yeah. So as I was telling you about taking your address from the staff, I actually wanted to meet you and talk to you personally. Hopefully that doesn't sound weird?" Taehyung asked hesitantly while Jungkook shook his head in denial.

"Oh, of course not, tell me what it is." Jungkook encouraged him.

"Jungkook-nim?"

"Yeah?"

"I had to ask you for a big favour, but don't worry I'll pay you back for that."

"What is it?" Jungkook asked with a soft tone and Taehyung's heart fluttered with the way Jungkook talked yet looked at him. With his hair still slightly damp, Jungkook presented a striking, youthful appearance. As he tossed his hair back, the motion accounted for the flexing of his arms, revealing every inch of the muscular bulk defined through the snug tank top he wore. Taehyung had to look away to distract himself, cheeks reddening naturally and a soft smile appearing on his face. But he needed to be focused on what was his motto of the day, that definitely was not checking this hot guy out.

"Can you please teach me how to paint?" He asked eagerly and Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise, hands stopping in stillness as he tried to grasp what the other just said.

"What? Teach you?" Jungkook asked, amazed while Taehyung only nodded rapidly.

"Yes, I discussed it with my family too and they agreed after hearing how amazing you are. Your way of working and teaching is so unique. Please don't deny my request. As I said, I'm ready to pay you any amount you ask for." Taehyung tried to convince him while Jungkook looked highly tensed up with this offer, loading him with a great responsibility.

"But Taehyung, aren't you already learning in school? Kang-nim is very amazing."

"I know, I'll continue school for my diploma and of course Kang-nim is very amazing but also Kang-nim teaches many students including me, it's never easy to catch up with his pace while I'm just a slow learner." Taehyung let the other know, his expressions turning to soft and gentle as he seemed a bit troubled and worried, eyes getting shinier in hope and troubled forehead curling the eyebrows as he anxiously played with leather back on his lap.

"But why me? You can ask anyone, probably someone better than me."

"No, no one's as good as you. Your art style is so catchy. I told you, people plan and measure everything before painting while you just go with the flow. I have seen you working in the school galleries, with the way you will start and end, it's so mesmerising to see. I want to learn this method too." Taehyung tried to convince the other male in the best way possible, voice pleading the artist to be convinced who was melting down by just seeing that face so adorable. He wouldn't ever disagree with something he says but Jungkook was tensed up by the fact of teaching Taehyung art, which means he's already loaded with a huge responsibility. What if Taehyung won't be satisfied with his work? What if he lacks something while teaching Taehyung? Or what if he wouldn't be able to reach his expectations?

Jungkook didn't learn this method of art from anyone. It came out naturally or maybe inherited from his very talented mother whose most beautiful creation was Jungkook himself.

"Really?" Jungkook asked while Taehyung rapidly nodded, eyes round and shiny, that someone would mistake him for a puppy soul trapped in a human body.

"Yes Jungkook-nim, if you agree to teach me. This would be a great help for me in pursuing my dream career plus art is my passion too."

"What if I end up disappointing you?"

"Please don't say no, whatever you will teach me will mean a lot to me." Taehyung's pleas had Jungkook's heart melting into two, he couldn't be harsh. No not when those adorable eyes were looking at him with loads of expectations.

"Ah, Taehyung. I seriously don't want to disappoint you now nor in the future. It's just a bit hard for me to digest 'cause you're seriously one of a kind who have observed me to this extent and considered me this much of a talented person. I seriously am not even half as good as you think I am and I seriously don't want to break your expectations..."

Taehyung could see insecurities in his dark eyes, his gaze mostly staring into space and a voice of uncertainty that had Taehyung's eyes softened even more. Taehyung’s face was bearing the pain underneath, not ready to accept the denial and Jungkook's heart clenched under his chest to see this sight of his worried face.

"...but if I can help you learn something new. I will try my best in delivering my best to you." And once Jungkook ended his sentence Taehyung's face brightened swiftly like a full moon.

"Really? Will you teach me?" He asked and Jungkook gave a mere blink and slight nod to him before Taehyung started throwing punches in the air joyfully.

"Thank you, thank you so much Jungkook-nim. This means everything to me."

Jungkook chuckled at how adorable Taehyung could be and at how good he was at expressing himself, something Jungkook wholeheartedly wanted to learn from him.

"So, when can we begin?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung rolled his eyes around while thinking.

"Anytime, just when you're okay. Can you teach me after school? Will you be okay with it?" Taehyung proposed the idea and Jungkook nodded in agreement.

"Of course, it sounds good for both of us."

"What time?"

"After school, straight to my home. Just as long as you wanna learn." Jungkook said and Taehyung nodded, smiling delightfully as if one of his dreams had already come true.

"Perfect then! So when can you start teaching me Jungkook-nim?"

"Whenever you want Taehyung-ssi, I'm always excited to have some company."

"What about Tomorrow?"

"Perfect."

And with the softest smile that they were giving each other, the seed of their love was sown deeper in the soil. This was out of blue but everything happened for a reason, they collided for a reason. It all happened to serve a purpose.

"I'm going to school, my driver is just outside. Would you like to join me Jungkook-nim?" Taehyung offered while Jungkook only looked surprised.

"Oh- no. I mean, damn, I'm sorry I haven't even asked you for a coffee or something and yet you're offering to help?"

"No no, nevermind. Maybe some other time. I already wasted a lot of your time this morning. I'm heading there so why not together?"

"Okay then, let me get myself a shirt." The artist informed and stood up, causing the younger one to stand as well and giving him a nod to go on.

And finally Jungkook couldn't deny his offer. Either Taehyung was so good at influencing or Jungkook was just easily influenced by him. He just can't deny any of his requests and he was sure to never will. The artist that day, saw Taehyung from a little different perspective. As his someone, he was waiting to meet. An encounter, he was highly grateful for happening. Why? Maybe he too didn't want to exhaust his mind wondering about it because he was just finding himself falling for this person, for this beautiful human with every second passing by. Maybe it's the way he talks or walks or just the way he simply exists. The artist lost words to describe or speak the language of his heart to explain what he was feeling. He was just losing himself to this little guy with time passing by.
